Obamanomics: How Bottom-Up Economic Prosperity Will Replace Trickle-Down Economics
Tuesday, July 22 7 pm
In Obamanomics, bestselling finance author John Talbott sizes up what might be achieved economically under a Barack Obama presidency. Obama's greatest strength may be his ability to bring the country together across divisions that have prevented Americans solving the most important problems of our generation. When Talbott read Obama's speeches, books, statements and campaign policy papers, he discovered that they add up to a set of principles and specific policies that are different from anything we've seen in a generation.
It is a plan to strengthen our economy by providing Americans with the opportunity to compete in a global marketplace on a just and fair basis and with the required educational skills. Talbott argues that global warming, lobbying reform, poverty, health care, wars, terrorism, education, housing and banking reform, energy and water shortages are complex global problems that cannot be left to the free market business world or governments to solve. A former investment banker for Goldman Sachs, Talbott is the author of four books on economics and politics, including The Coming Crash in the Housing Market.
